King Drupada and Dhrishtadyumna were overjoyed to hear that Draupadi is going to the house of the celebrated Pandavas. But they raised opposition, when they heard that Draupadi was going to be the common wife of all the five Pandava brothers. “How can one approach his brother’s wife with sexual intent? It sounds awkward, let alone be immoral.” Yudhishtira stands by his ground. “A mother’s word is above any law”. He also cites the story of Jatila of the Gautami clan, who was shared by seven rishis(sages).
